File Handling Policy
Security, Processing and Retention Standards
At UploadReady.in, we respect the confidentiality of your documents, passport photos, scanned signatures, and certificates. This policy explains exactly how your files are processed, where they are converted, and how long they remain on our infrastructure.
Browser Interface and Preview
Your browser handles file selection and may create a local preview. The current photo, signature, image-compression, and PDF workflows then upload the selected file to the processing service.
Secure Server-Side Tools
PDF and image processing uses server-side engines. Files are transferred over HTTPS and written to temporary processing storage so the requested output can be generated.
1. Strictly Automatic 1-Hour Deletion
For tools that process files on our backend servers, your source uploads and the generated output files are subject to a strict 1-hour retention policy.
- An automated application cleanup task checks processing storage every five minutes.
- During each check, regular files older than the configured 60-minute retention period are deleted.
- The cleanup applies to files in UploadReady's processing folder; infrastructure-level backup behavior depends on the hosting environment.
2. Industry Standard Transit Security
The public service uses HTTPS to encrypt files in transit between your browser and the processing service. HTTPS reduces interception risk, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
3. Automated Processing
Normal file processing is performed automatically by software. Authorized infrastructure administrators may technically be able to access server storage for security, maintenance, abuse investigation, or incident response; access should be limited to those purposes.
Warning for Sensitive Documents
While we use security best practices, no public online service is appropriate for top-secret, highly proprietary, or exceptionally sensitive business documents. If you have proprietary data that cannot be transferred to a remote server under any circumstances, we advise utilizing local offline utilities instead.
4. Clear User Control
The current file tools disclose that the selected file is sent to the processing service. If a document is too sensitive to transfer to an online service, use a trusted offline workflow instead.
